Creatures of Darkness

1635. Iceland is still a medieval world, ruled by superstition, poverty, and cruelty. Scholars are trying to unravel the secrets of unicorns, ordinary people secretly worship the Virgin Mary, the dead walk the earth, and unwanted books can easily be sent to the bonfire. In such a world lives Jounas Paulmason, a poet, healer, and scholar, condemned to exile for heretical teachings and disputes with local authorities.
