Chinese Language. Introductory Course

The manual is intended for studying the Chinese language at the beginner level. The book contains about 1600 words. The main focus of the manual is on conversational speech, and it also provides brief phonetic, grammatical, and cultural information. In... preparing the publication, the characteristic difficulties faced by native Russian speakers when learning Chinese were taken into account.
The book consists of 40 lessons divided into 13 parts. In the first part (4 lessons), the main focus is on pronunciation. The lessons from the other parts contain text, vocabulary, explanations, sentence models, and exercises. Each part consisting of three lessons includes a summarizing lesson, which comprises sections such as "Conversational Phrases", "Introduction to Grammar", "Introduction to China", "Humor", "Introduction to Chinese Hieroglyphics". As for one of the most difficult aspects of the Chinese language - hieroglyphics, mastering it occurs in the most effective way: in the initial lessons, only the phonetic transcription of Chinese words is provided, while in the later ones, hieroglyphs are introduced.
This methodology allows students to gradually master the basics of the Chinese language, learn basic syntactic structures, memorize a sufficient number of lexical units for everyday communication, learn to read and write the most commonly used hieroglyphs, and expand their knowledge of Chinese culture and history.
In addition to the book, thematic audio material can be purchased on a CD in mp3 format. Dialogues and phonetic exercises are recorded on the compact disc, and listening to it will help learners get accustomed to the sound of live Chinese speech, perceive the text's content by ear, and improve their pronunciation.
