Chinese Language. Introductory Course

The manual is intended for learning Chinese at a beginner level. The book presents approximately 1600 words. The main focus of the manual is on spoken language; in addition, brief phonetic, grammatical, and cultural information is provided. The characteristic difficulties that Russian speakers face when learning Chinese were taken into account in the preparation of this edition.
The book consists of 40 lessons, grouped into 13 parts. In the first part (4 lessons), the main focus is on pronunciation. The lessons from the other parts contain text, vocabulary, explanations, sentence models, and exercises. Each part consisting of three lessons includes a summarizing lesson, which encompasses sections such as "Conversational Phrases," "Introduction to Grammar," "Acquaintance with China," "Humor," and "Introduction to Chinese Characters." As for one of the most challenging aspects of the Chinese language - characters, mastering it occurs in the most effective way: in the initial lessons, only phonetic transcription of Chinese words is provided, while in later lessons, characters are introduced.
This methodology allows students to gradually master the basics of the Chinese language, learn basic syntactic structures, memorize a sufficient number of lexical units for everyday communication, learn to read and write the most commonly used characters, and expand their knowledge of Chinese culture and history.
In addition to the book, thematic audio material can be purchased on a disk in mp3 format. Dialogues and phonetic exercises recorded on the compact disc will allow language learners to get accustomed to the sound of live Chinese speech, perceive the content of the text by ear, and improve their pronunciation.
