With the arrival of night, the swamps echo with the wailing of ghouls, and misfortune befalls those caught in the dark on their way. A year ago, the swamp creatures took Mavna’s younger brother, Rasko, and her whole life changed: her mother fell ill, her older brother became unsociable and irritable, and Mavna herself seemed to have turned to ice, forgetting how to rejoice. One day, a stranger appears in the village and gifts Mavna a frog skin, along with it — the hope that Rasko can still be rescued. Mavna will have to step beyond the fence, into the chilly fog, and only the Guardians know who she will meet on this path.
