Kings of Ash

The disfigured giant Roka finds himself far from the cold Ascom on the islands. He is struck by the locals' strange customs and the incredible wealth around him, so contrasting with the poverty and scarcity of his native lands. Possessing outstanding intellect, he starts to learn quickly, absorbing the knowledge of the more enlightened culture, and by the will of fate, he becomes almost a friend to King Farahi, who possesses the gift of foresight. And despite Roka's admiration for the islanders, he still believes that the only way to save his own people is to conquer them. Many years later, Prince Keil, the son of Farahi, tries to save his country and seeks allies to wrest his island from the hands of the invaders. Keil has powerful yet poorly controlled magical abilities that often frighten him, but they may help him gain the upper hand over his enemies. Keil is besieged by strange horrific visions, and perhaps much more is at stake than the opponents realize.
