The House on Sunny Street

While young Moji sat with her sister in their grandfather's grapevine-covered garden in Tehran, listening to tales from the "One Thousand and One Nights", a revolution was brewing in the country. When the last Shah of Iran left the country,... it forever changed her life — the agonizing first days of the revolution, immigration to the USA, hostility from classmates. But one day her family will return to post-revolutionary Iran, and Moji will have to learn to live again in her unfamiliar homeland. In the new school, she will find a friend who will introduce her to the world of banned novels by Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, and Gogol. From the moment she delves into these forbidden readings, Moji will begin to change, to realize herself and her path, while the unstable world around her continues to boil and present her with new challenges.
