Collection of Works in 7 Volumes

This collection of the works of Ignatius Bryanchaninov is one of the best editions of his writings.
It includes almost all of his most famous works. Thus, the extensive work "Ascetic Experiences" is contained in the first and second volumes. In it, the reader will find teachings about life in Christ, according to His commandments. Here, the saint teaches the narrow way that leads to Heaven and the true prayer. The third volume contains his best sermons, speeches, and discussions, as well as an exposition of the Orthodox teaching about the Mother of God. In the fourth volume, the saint addresses monasticism – sequentially narrating how to begin the monastic life, the goal of life in the monastery, and providing many instructions. The fifth volume consists of letters from Ignatius Bryanchaninov to various recipients. The next volume is the "Patriarch", which includes sayings of the holy fathers and elders, as well as stories from the lives of ascetics. Finally, the concluding volume contains translations by Bishop Ignatius and Bishop Peter of the works of St. John Cassian on monastic rules and regulations, as well as warnings and teachings in spiritual warfare and overcoming many temptations.
