After a global flood, humanity is huddled on small islands, united in the state of Atahail. The new order is such that small islands work for the benefit of the larger one. To prevent anyone from thinking of disobeying or... escaping, each island is surrounded by a deadly fence. Eili is a resident of a paradise where grapes and oranges are grown for the owners. She is preparing to become the leader of her settlement while secretly dreaming of knowing what life is like on other islands.
