Fairy Tales, Myths, and Legends of the Eastern Slavs with Illustrations

Since the XVIII century, domestic enthusiasts have been engaged in the research and categorization of the beliefs of mysterious ancient Slavs.

This volume collects three well-known works centered around gods, demons, and spirits, their close connection with nature, and their ability to influence humans.

«The Ancient Religion of the Slavs», prepared by the philologist, translator, and civil counselor Grigory Andreevich Glinka (1776 —1818), «Unclean, Unknown, and Cross Forces» by the ethnographer writer Sergey Vasilyevich Maximov (1831—1901), and «Deities of the Ancient Slavs», compiled by the composer Alexander Sergeyevich Famintsyn (1841—1896).

The design of the dust jacket features fragments of paintings by the artist Konstantin Alexeevich Vasilyev (1942—1976).
