Tales, Myths, and Legends of the Eastern Slavs with Illustrations

"The Ancient Religion of the Slavs," prepared by the philologist, translator, and state councilor Grigory Andreyevich Glinka (1776—1818), "The Unclean, Unknown, and Cross Force" by writer-ethnographer Sergey Vasilyevich Maximov (1831—1901), and "The Deities of the Ancient Slavs," collected by composer Alexander Sergeyevich Famintsyn (1841—1896).

Fragments of paintings by the artist Konstantin Alexeyevich Vasilyev (1942—1976) have been used in the design of the dust jacket.
