Me, grandma, Iliko and Illarion

Nodar Dumbadze (1928–1984) is the most famous Georgian writer, his works have been translated into ninety-six languages ​​of the world. Nodar Dumbadze's prose is filled with love for simple human values; his heroes, selflessly in love with life, seem to be able to be born only in warm Georgia, where even a blind person, according to the author, is able to see the sun. The volume includes famous novels, novellas and short stories by classics of Georgian literature, including the most famous story “I, Grandma, Iliko and Hilarion”. It seems that all the most characteristic features of Nodar Dumbadze’s prose are reflected here: subtle humor, grotesque, colorful everyday life and pain... But, perhaps, the most unforgettable character in this story is the stern grandmother Olga, who knows how to swear like no other woman in Georgia. However, the main character is not afraid of her curses, because one day the grandmother revealed her secret: “my lips curse, but my heart blesses you...”
