In late June 1913, Klim Panteleevich Ardashev receives an invitation from an old friend to stay at his estate on the Black Sea coast. Noticeable notes of concern in the letter prompt the lawyer not to delay the trip. While in Sochi and then in Tbilisi, he witnesses a series of mysterious crimes… It all began with an accidentally exploded kerosene lamp and a dried palm tree…
