Tree Climber

Senior investigator Denis Bukharin, through the efforts of his influential father-in-law, is sent "into exile" from Moscow to St. Petersburg. His accustomed life is shattered in an instant, but there is work to be done here as well, and in the very first days at his new post, Bukharin encounters a mysterious murder: the victim's eyes are bloodshot, and there are terrible burns on the tips of their fingers. But the most astonishing thing is that the same traces were found on the body of another victim discovered in Moscow on the railway tracks just a few days before Bukharin's unexpected transfer to the northern capital.
Is there really a serial killer on the loose in the country? And while Denis was not given a chance to investigate the crime to the end in Moscow, perhaps he can uncover the mystery here in St. Petersburg? He gets help from a strange girl, Asya Naumova: by education, a paleontologist; by profession, a photographer. The unusual detective duo must find out how the victims from the two capitals are connected, but the main question remains: will they manage to prevent new crimes and catch the cunning murderer?
