The game is based on a game invented in 1934 by the artist V. Golitsyn. Compared to Golitsyn's game, this one has been modified, features new graphics, and includes changes to the rules.
From 2 to 9 people can play. Players are divided into 2 teams: the Spaniards, whose task is to transport gold from South America to their homeland, and the pirates, whose task is to seize that gold.
The game involves currents, wind force, and sandbanks with rocks.
The game features a large colorful board, tokens in the shape of ships, and a spinner-compass rose. The historical reference includes brief information about the captains and pirates of that era.
