The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star

The book by the leader and bassist of the American glam rock band Motley Crue, Nikki Sixx, consists of his diary entries from 1986-1987, as well as comments on them made 20 years later by the musician himself and many... participants of those events. Sixx's diaries captured the time of the band's creation of the album Girls, Girls, Girls, the tour in support of it, but primarily — a difficult period in the musician's life, when he was desperately trying to quit drugs. Even in that dark time, when drugs were about to completely displace music from his life, the musician remained faithful to his goal — to secure the band's success. And he soon succeeded — in 1989, the band recorded their most successful album Dr. Feelgood and reached the peak of popularity.
