A collection of letters from the outstanding Soviet artist Alexander Rodchenko, addressed to his wife, Varvara Stepanova, in 1925 during his first and only trip abroad. There he worked on the design of the Soviet section of the International Exhibition... of Decorative Arts and Industrial Design and on the construction of a Workers' Club. However, the main theme of the letters is not this, but his impressions of Western consumer culture, the variety and quantity of goods available for purchase, and the constant contrast between life "in Paris" and "at home."
