A Monster Calls

The monster appeared right after midnight.

Connor couldn't sleep. He was awakened by a nightmare. Ever since his mother fell seriously ill, he has been having the same nightmarish dream.
This monster, resembling a yew tree, seldom shows itself to people. It came to Connor to tell three stories: about love, hope, and loss. The monster will come every night, and when it finishes its tale, Connor will have to tell it his story. About what he fears the most in the world.
