According to legend, about 1300 years ago, the powerful Indian raja Dabhishlim summoned wise men and ordered them to compile a book that would contain instructions, advice, and guidance on political matters, as well as the deepest life wisdom.
And soon the book of fables and parables about animals appeared — "Kalila and Dimna," which became so popular that its fame spread far beyond the borders of India.
This book has been translated into 50 languages and is considered one of the most popular ever written in human history. It is these parables that inspired the great fable writers La Fontaine and Krylov, and it is these parables that are ready to share the wisdom of millennia with us today.
The book includes more than fifty fables and parables, illustrated with Persian and Indian miniatures, specially created for editions of the 16th - 19th centuries.
