The book consists of two parts. The first traces the shift of paradigms in relation to data from the first scientific revolution to the fourth industrial one.
It discusses in detail the characteristics of data as the most valuable asset of an organization and the main barriers to extracting value from it. The second part is dedicated to describing the main approaches to overcoming barriers. It analyzes key areas of data management at different stages of their lifecycle — from planning to enhancing application capabilities.
