Feeling. Notebooks

Václav Nijinsky (1889–1950) — the eighth wonder of the world, king of the air, god of dance, as his contemporaries called him, — an outstanding dancer and choreographer who made a significant contribution to the art of Russian ballet.
For just over ten years, he delighted fans with his extraordinary talent — first on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre, then as part of Sergei Diaghilev's troupe. The characters he created in the ballets of I. Stravinsky, C. Debussy, A. Adam became classics of world choreography, and the best dancers in the world began to imitate Nijinsky. His fame was immense, but unexpectedly, at the height of his career, he had to leave the stage: the artist was diagnosed with a severe mental illness.
At that time, he began to write his notebooks, giving them the title «Feeling». These entries are something between a diary and a personal letter. They contain reflections on life and death, creativity and craft, friendship and betrayal, love and hatred, a conversation about God and the soul. Frank and profound thoughts allow one to immerse oneself in Nijinsky's inner world and better understand him.
