Lost Letters

Letters in damaged envelopes. Letters with illegible addresses. Letters sent to Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy. All of them end up in the hands of so-called postal detectives, who have the right to open these messages in order to identify the recipient or at least return the undelivered mail to the sender. One such detective, a failed writer named William Wolfe, reads letter after letter from an unknown girl dreaming of finding love and writing to her imaginary beloved into nowhere, literally into the air.
