In Sorrow and in Joy

Everyone tells Marta that she is smart and beautiful, that she is a wonderful writer, dearly loved by her husband, whom, according to her mother, is still hard to find. So why, on the brink of her fortieth birthday, is she so lonely, almost unemployed, and constantly unhappy?

When her husband, who loved her since she was fourteen, finally can't take it anymore and leaves, and her sister declares that she is tired of putting up with her issues, Marta has no choice but to return to her parents' home. But can one, having destroyed everything to the ground, gather a new life from the fragments and learn to love a familiar person anew?
