Post Office

Charles Bukowski — one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century, author of more than forty books, including novels, poems, essays, and short stories. Despite occasionally shocking naturalism, his texts are full of lyricism, even a peculiar sentimentality.

His first novel "Post Office," dedicated to his work at the said establishment and numerous tragicomic escapades from the life of a simple California postal worker, Bukowski wrote at the age of 50. This took twenty nights, twenty pints of whiskey, thirty-five packs of beer, and eighty cigars.
