Diaries of a Russian Woman

Elizaveta Dyakonova 1874 —1902 — a writer, publicist, and a bright representative of the progressive part of the Russian merchant class of the 19th century. In her Diaries of a Russian Woman, which she kept from the age of 11 until her death, an entire era is reflected: family relationships, education, issues of women's higher education, the life of youth and student life in the 1890s, personal experiences, portraits of friends, and the formation of the women's movement. The experiences and difficulties on the path to adulthood described by Dyakonova remain close to readers even a century later.
