Apology of a Madman.

Pyotr Yakovlevich Chadaev (1794-1856) - a Russian philosopher and publicist, author of the famous "Philosophical Letters." After the publication of the first letter in the magazine "Telescope" in 1836, he was declared insane. In his writings, Chadaev reflects on the... destiny of Russia, the relationship between faith and human reason, the right historical path, and of course, the freedom of the individual and its suppression. So how did Russia appear in the eyes of Chadaev, the "provocateur and madman"? This edition includes selected works of Chadaev, including all eight "Philosophical Letters" and "Apology of a Madman," written in response to accusations of lack of patriotism, as well as memories of his contemporaries about him.
