Post-scriptum

This book is a continuation of "The Diary of a Little Monkey," which Jane Birkin kept from 1957 to 1982. Jane recounts her life after the breakup with Serge Gainsbourg. It included new love and the birth of a child,... the ups and downs of her artistic career, difficult relationships with her grown-up older daughters, and the joy of their first successes in art, tours and recordings, participation in theater productions, charity concerts in war-torn Yugoslavia, roles in auteur cinema, illness, loss of loved ones, the birth of grandchildren... When Gainsbourg passed away, Jane placed her talisman - a plush monkey named Monkey, with whom she had never parted, in the coffin with him; when her eldest daughter Kate died, Jane closed the diary she had kept since she was eleven and never wrote another line in it.
