Statehood and Anarchy

Mikhail Bakunin 1814—1876 — social activist, revolutionary philosopher, and ideologist of anarchism. Raised on the ideas of German philosophy, he participated in many European revolutionary movements, where he advocated for the destruction of states as such and the creation of federalist unions based on equality and justice. A staunch supporter of the idea of Pan-Slavism and a chief opponent of Karl Marx regarding the "dictatorship of the proletariat", Bakunin at the end of his life was forced to acknowledge the boundless chasm between his anarchist worldview in theory and in practice.
