Alexandrian Quartet: Mountolive. Clea

The four parts of the tetralogy novel Alexandrian Quartet bear the names of their main characters. The reader can view the same events through the eyes of completely different people. The hero of the third book – Mountolive – becomes the secondary character Balthazar, the diplomat Mountolive, who has a rather curious attitude towards the Egyptian conspiracy. The further fates of the characters from the first three books of the tetralogy are narrated in the fourth and final part – Clea, – the action of which takes place during World War II. The text of this edition has been revised by the translator V. Mikhailin and supplemented with comments.
