A complete look at what is happening from both sides: a thorough exploration of the psychology of the maniac and the incredible resurrection of the victim Ekaterina Martynova. Many times we could have died. But we clung to life with...
our last strength and waited. Those like Mokhov always make mistakes sooner or later... Saturday. A small Russian town of Skopin. In one of the yards, a garage is visible. At ground level, a metal plate slowly and cautiously moves aside, revealing a passage. A pale teenage girl emerges from it. She has a strange figure: long arms, flat chest, thin legs. She covers her eyes with her hand, trying to adjust to the light. She stands still and waits for her orders. This story traveled across the country and beyond its borders. Honored worker, good, decent man Viktor Mokhov dug a cellar in his yard to keep two teenage girls there. They were his sex slaves, bore him children, hated him, and waited for him to come, because no one but him knew they were there. How did they manage to survive? Were they able to recover from the trauma? What has become of their lives, and do they fear their tormentor, who will be released in 2021? When I learned Katya's story, I expected to see a broken person who was saved by a miracle but would never be able to live a normal life. The personal meeting shocked me. In the book, I tried to convey how a fragile girl managed to endure all this. — KARSTEN GRAFF
