Anne Frank. The Betrayed

Anne Frank is perhaps one of the most well-known victims of the Holocaust. At the age of 13, she began keeping a diary, which later became a worldwide bestseller and was translated into more than 70 languages. Through her story, Anne managed to convey the tragedy of millions of victims of Nazism. Seventy-five years after Anne Frank's death, Gerard Kremer – the son of a Resistance member during World War II – investigates the case of the betrayal of the Frank family, based on the memories of his father and other witnesses. According to Kremer's testimony, the Frank family was betrayed by Ans Van Dijk – a Jewish woman who informed on other Jews to the Nazis. She became the only woman in the Netherlands to receive a death sentence for collaborating with the Nazis. Although her guilt in the betrayal of the Frank family case was never definitively proven at that time, this book uncovers many previously unknown facts that could be the key to unraveling this complicated and grim story.
