Summer with Jhad

Theo inherits a tiny house built on a distant island in the middle of a river.

There he meets Jhad — a girl with black hair and oddities, who never parts with her old camera.

Seeing a dilapidated hut instead of a house, Theo wants to leave immediately, but he does not take into account Jhad's determination...

Life without electricity, drinking water, and other benefits of civilization… For Theo, the island turns out to be as much a living organism as the people, with their own cares and problems, the main one being the enormous amount of garbage that constantly washes ashore. The young man realizes that he cannot remain inactive. Unbeknownst to him, Theo discovers completely different facets of life while simultaneously enjoying the incredible nature and the colors of summer.

The novel about the first sincere feeling simultaneously raises the current topic of caring for the environment. In an astonishing way, the book, first published in 1999, anticipated the problems humanity faces today.
