The book collects five realized screenplays for Andrei Zvyagintsev's films — «The Return», «The Banishment», «Elena», «Leviathan» and «Loveless». The screenplays are supplemented with author comments from the director, which provide insight into the working process of creating a film. Andrei Zvyagintsev and his co-author Oleg Negin are holders of prestigious awards such as the «Golden Lion» from the Venice Film Festival (2003), the Cannes Film Festival award for Best Screenplay (2014), the «Golden Globe» (2015), and the French Academy Award «César» (2018) for Best Foreign Language Film.
