The second volume of the French series "Dinosaurs in Comics" by screenwriter Arno Plumeri and artist Bloz continues the fascinating story of the life of these gigantic reptiles... But wait! Why necessarily gigantic? The cute Compsognathus, for example, is the...
size of a chicken... The little Bambiraptor (imagine, there is such a thing!) is slightly larger, but also by no means gigantic. And the well-known Velociraptors from the movies are only a couple of meters tall... In contrast, the Apatosaurus is 29 meters long and weighs 30 tons! And the Argentinosaurus? 35 meters and 80 tons (or even 100 tons, according to some sources)! By the way, the names of dinosaurs are a separate story (and, coincidentally, a separate gag). How about Eustreptospondylus?.. Or Brachytrachelopan?.. Or even more so — Micro Pachycephalosaurus! Yes, you can't deny paleontologists their humor — and there's a gag about this in the book too. However, paleontologists didn't always have fun: the "Bone Wars" that erupted in the United States in the second half of the 19th century between the two leading fossil specialists of that time were ruthless and merciless, like the jaws of a hungry Tyrannosaurus... How did they end? You will find out about that in this book too. As well as why Concavenator has a hump, Therizinosaurus has 70-centimeter claws, Spinosaurus has a bony sail on its back, and Apatosaurus has stones in its stomach. Or maybe you won't find out — since paleontologists themselves aren't always sure of their versions!
