The Edge of the Earth

"The Edge of the Earth" is the only documentary book by American writer Michael Cunningham. It is dedicated to Provincetown, a city on Cape Cod that became a bohemian and tourist center of the East Coast in the mid-20th century. Cunningham himself arrived on Cape Cod in the 1980s and has been returning there often since then. In his book, he travels to his favorite places, from beaches, marshes, and dunes to a pharmacy and restaurant, telling stories about the ordinary residents of Provincetown and the celebrities who lived there.
