This work is the first domestic monograph on the problem of studying psychological defense in children. Based on materials from an experimental psychological study of elementary school students, it analyzes the specifics and reveals the content of the main coping strategies and psychological defense mechanisms in children. A connection between defensive behavior and the sex, age, and typological properties of the child has been identified. The author's technology for studying the system of psychological defense, based on the analysis of children's drawings and narratives, is discussed. The therapeutic and preventive significance of this technology is demonstrated, along with comprehensive examples of its use, which can be useful not only for specialists but also for all interested parents.
