Bipolar disorder is not just mood swings from mania to depression. It is everyday life, where ordinary things—career, relationships, having children—turn into a complex quest. The world becomes brighter, sharper, and sometimes more painful.
You are presented with a deep exploration...
of life with BPD beyond basic recommendations. There are no simple answers here, but there is an honest conversation about what often remains behind the scenes. You will learn:
· how to build a career when your productivity is beyond schedules;
· how to maintain love without turning loved ones into saviors;
· why the bipolar brain thinks differently;
· what women with BPD and their husbands need to know if they want to have children;
· what the first signs of bipolar disorder look like in teenagers and much more.
This book is for you if you already know what bipolar disorder is and how to survive with this challenging diagnosis. And now you want to figure out how to build a full and rich life while maintaining mental balance. You can read the book starting from any chapter that is relevant to you.
Each chapter includes detailed information about the issue, examples from the personal stories of bipolar individuals, as well as practical recommendations and psychological self-help techniques.
Masha Pushkina is a psychologist of cognitive-behavioral orientation, specializing in bipolar spectrum disorders. She is the author of non-fiction books about bipolar disorder, including the bestsellers "Bipolar Disorder: Survival Guide" and "Bipolars".
She was one of the first to speak out about the problems of bipolars—a witty name coined by the people with this diagnosis themselves. Since 2016, Masha Pushkina has been leading the patient community "Association of Bipolars", collaborating with public organizations that help people with mental disorders, and writing articles about mental health for popular media. In 2019, she received her psychologist diploma and subsequently completed training in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy.
