Following the Lightwood family, Clary finds herself in Alicante, the capital of Idris, where the last Mortal Instrument—the Mirror—awaits, which Valentin is hunting for. 

Only he who possesses this Mirror will defend and achieve peace. 

In the struggle against Valentin, the Nephilim will unite with werewolves and other undead, while Clary will receive a new rune from the angel Ithuriel, but she will only learn what it means after the decisive battle. Many secrets will be revealed, new alliances formed, some will perish, and others will discover new abilities within themselves and find hope.
