The Land of Sannikov

At the very beginning of the 20th century, political exile Matvey Goryunov leads an expedition to search for the mysterious Land of Sannikov - a warm oasis hidden in the crater of a sleeping volcano in the midst of polar ice. Upon reaching the desired location, Goryunov and other expedition members encounter representatives of the primitive Onkilon tribe. The arrival of travelers from the mainland brings discord and chaos to the tribe, for long ago a great shaman prophesied that the Onkilons would live peacefully until armed "thunders and lightnings" appeared in the form of white men.
