Conversations with Daughter about Economics

Yanis Varoufakis (born 1961) is a professor of economics at the Universities of Athens and Texas, a consultant on the virtual goods market in computer games for Valve, and the Minister of Economy of Greece (January 27 - July 6, 2015). In this short book, written in the form of a conversation with his daughter Ksenia, he attempts to answer the main questions of economics, including where inequality comes from. Using stories from everyday life and classical texts and myths of European culture from Oedipus and Faust to "Frankenstein" and "The Matrix" as examples, the world-renowned economist explains what economics is and how it affects our lives.
