Collection of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (set of 4 books: "The Little Prince. Planet of People", "Night Flight. War Pilot", "Manon the Dancer. Southern Mail", "Citadel". Appearing on April 6, 1943, at the Reinald-Hitchcock publishing house, The Little Prince spoke English,... and only some time later, thanks to the same publishers, began to speak French. So was he American or French? "The Little Prince" was conceived, drawn, and written in the United States during 1942. The book was an order, it was intended to be a Christmas fairy tale for American children, and then for French ones, to somewhat comfort and distract them, some from the looming threat of war, others from its real hardships. All this is true, but there is something more. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry categorically refused to learn English, and as early as 1939 he wrote a wonderful book for children that was planned to be published in France in the printing house of Tours. But the bombing of Tours in 1940 changed everything. Starting from 1946 - the date of the first French (and posthumous) edition of The Little Prince - this "poetic fairy tale" has been translated into 210 languages and sold in millions of copies in all countries. The collection also includes "Planet of People", published in 1939, which received a major award from the French Academy and was named the best book of the year by the American Booksellers Association. However, the cinematic adaptation of the book that Jean Renoir was eager to create never materialized. Our collectible edition includes a collection titled "Manon, the Dancer" with unique texts by Saint-Exupéry, which were accidentally discovered in private collections only after the famous writer-pilot disappeared and were first translated into Russian only in 2009, as well as the first novel "Southern Mail", which grew out of the novella "The Aviator" and was published in 1929. In 1936, a film was made based on it, and Saint-Exupéry was present at the shooting in Southern Morocco, during dangerous episodes he doubled the famous actor Pierre Richard-Wille
