Mortal Love

The Victorian artist Redburn Comstock, who moves in the circle of Pre-Raphaelites and is acquainted with many English poets, such as Algernon Swinburne, encounters a strange yet infinitely attractive woman who becomes his true muse. But alongside creativity, the supernatural... forcefully intrudes into his life, and his mind gradually darkens with madness. In 1990s London, critic Daniel Rowlands, working on a book about the history of Tristan and Isolde, stumbles upon the trail of invaluable—and thought to be lost—canvases by Pre-Raphaelite artists, but the search leads him to an ancient and dangerous secret whose roots go deep into the centuries. Meanwhile, actor Valentine Comstock, a descendant of Redburn, is haunted by maddening visions, and the world around him irreversibly changes. Thus begins a story that spans several generations and continents, intertwining art history and mythology, in which everything is not what it seems, and inspiration and love can turn into death.
