Set - Bull

Three interesting legends are associated with the symbol of the Bull (ox, steer, cow) in mythology. According to a Chinese legend, when Buddha called the animals to him, the bull ran first among the twelve animals. However, the rat, sneaking... along his back, reached Buddha’s hands ahead of the bull. For their obedience, Buddha commanded that each of the arriving animals would reign over people for a year, imparting traits of their character. The Greek legend states that when Zeus fell in love with Europa, the beautiful daughter of the Phoenician king, the king of the gods turned into a white bull, and on the back of this beautiful animal, Europa crossed the sea and reached the island of Crete.
In Indian myths, the bull and the cow were considered the ancestors of the world, and they are still revered as sacred animals in India.
