Ruthless roots have entangled once-reliable elevations, and the few who have managed to survive fall asleep every night under the terrifying sounds of forest monsters at the walls of the last bastions of civilization.

O, brave warriors! You swore once, spilling your blood over a great treaty, that you would give your life in a desperate attempt to save humanity. What has driven you – a burning heart, a desire for revenge, or the enticing jingle of coins – is not so important. For now you are the True to the Oath, and your path is through a sea of death into the enemy's lair, and in your hands is a weapon. Will you fulfill your duty and overcome the Darkwood, returning hope to humankind?
