The plot threads of the novels “Viland,” “Inspection,” and “The Number of Rebekah” gradually unravel. Events that took place in the middle and end of the last century converge at one point. Viland von Till, once having made a choice between love for a woman and the obsession with racial superiority, realizes the consequences of the decisions he made. His repentance is accepted by the caregiver Rivka, who is tied to Viland much more closely than it seemed at first. “Exodus” is the concluding part of the tetralogy “Shadows of the Past.” A book about love, self-sacrifice, and the cost of lost illusions.
