The Pit

The works of Andrei Platonov (1899-1951), written "in effort towards the future", are still striking with their uniqueness, expanding the boundaries of language and consciousness.
Although the writer fully embraced the October Revolution, his communist "earthly paradise" is more akin to hell. The heroes of "The Pit" construct a "common proletarian house", but the reality of events shocks with its tragedy, leading both the author and the characters to a worldview tragedy. The book is published on the 120th anniversary of Andrei Platonov's birth.
