Captain's Daughter

"Honor must be preserved from youth" is the epigraph to the story. This imperative is the guiding thread for reading the great book. Pushkin began to contemplate "The Captain's Daughter" in 1833. At that time, he went on a trip to the Orenburg and Kazan provinces, where Pugachev's uprising was unfolding. Initially, the main character of the narrative was supposed to side with the rebels and take an active part in the battles according to the author's idea. But gradually, the plan for the story changed and eventually took the form we know.
