Android Rett Kaleston manages to survive the ""cleansing"", after which he joins a group of rebels led by the mysterious revolutionary Vergilius, the owner of a spaceship called ""Afelia"". The android has neither memories nor knowledge of himself. Indirect signs only indicate that Rett is not an ordinary serial model, but a unique specimen made to individual order.
After training on ""Afelia"", Vergilius appoints Rett as his agent in Extremum, where he must become a hacker and obtain secret information. Rett intends to use this opportunity for his own purposes: to find out who he is and who created him.
By all means, the android strives to uncover the truth, but much more important is another question: will he be able to bear its burden and pay the required price?
