Brigita Reimann is a German writer from the GDR. On the very first day, she meets Nikolaus and Kurt. One is a shy and kind giant, dreaming of becoming an artist. The other is an arrogant and charismatic son of wealthy parents. The three of them step into everyday life, where they face work at the complex, a test of endurance, and a love triangle. On one side of the scale are dances in a restaurant, beautiful clothes, and car trips. On the other are quiet evenings in the barracks, the smell of paints, the rustle of brushes on canvas, and walks in nature. Reha has to choose what is closer to her heart…
