White Bim Black Ear

The story of Gavriil Nikolaevich Troepolsky "White Bim Black Ear," published in 1971, immediately gained wide success among the public upon its release, was translated into dozens of languages, and has since lived beyond time and age of readership, reminding... us of simple values: love, responsibility, compassion. The film based on this book (1977) by Stanislav Rostotsky has repeatedly won at various film festivals and was nominated for an Oscar in 1979 as the best foreign film. In Voronezh, the writer's homeland, a monument has been erected to the main character of the story — the setter Bim with an unusual coloring, but with the most ordinary understanding of the world that every dog has, based on loyalty to a friend and duty.
