History and Philosophy of Science

The book is written in accordance with the candidate minimum program for graduate students and applicants. It traces how science emerged during the development of culture and civilization, what the differences are between science and other forms of knowledge. The structure and dynamics of scientific knowledge, historical changes in types of scientific rationality, the connections between science and philosophy, and the socio-cultural conditioning of scientific research are analyzed. The issues of the philosophy of science are examined based on specific material from the history of science.
